Pulled into the driveway last night at about 11:30, only to spot this bear not 10 feet away from my car. I didn't see it at first, but as soon as I opened the door I heard someone yell "there's a bear in the next yard" - looked up and sure enough, a black bear was snooping around my neighbor's front yard. Despite where I live, I've never actually *seen* a bear up close before, so naturally, I freak out a little. It's not like there's a lot of obstacles in the way to the front door, but I had the dog with me, and I figured that might be problematic. I waited inside the car for a few minutes, but decided I didn't want to stick around to have it come closer and keep me there - that, and it kept staring at me. Scary. So I ended up driving to my folk's place and crashing there for the night. Ended up having a mini Slayers marathon with my sisters, so at least it wasn't a total waste.
Last time it was a pair of moose in the park, now bears. Nature is annoying ><
